On the evening of December 13th, “Khmer Great Love——Angkor Charity Night” charity dinner was grandly held at Baphuon Temple in Siem Reap, a historic cultural city of Cambodia. The event was jointly organized by Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts in Cambodia, Association of Angkor Digital Culture Council and DPB Foundation.
H.E. Mrs. Phoeurng Sackona, Minister of Culture and Fine Arts in Cambodia, Oknha Mr. Deng Pibing, chairman of Association of Angkor Digital Culture Council and DPB Foundation, along with numerous philanthropists from various sectors in Cambodia, attended the event with heartfelt love and social responsibility. Gathering in this Cambodian cultural and historical temple, philanthropists from politics and business made their contributions to charities of Khmer nation.
H.E. Mrs. Phoeurng Sackona, Minister of Culture and Fine Arts in Cambodia, said in her speech, “‘Khmer Great Love——Angkor Charity Night’ charity dinner is a profound tribute to Cambodian traditional culture, an excellent platform for showcasing great love from all walks of life.” She encouraged philanthropists to extend their helping hands to raise more funds for children's hospital in Cambodia to purchase specific drugs and necessary medicine.
Oknha Mr. Deng Pibing, chairman of Association of Angkor Digital Culture Council and DPB Foundation, emphasized in his speech, “We are combining ways of preserving Khmer culture and fulfilling social responsibility, which forms a strong cohesion for harmony and love in Cambodian society.” Mr. Oknha also said, “Children’s health directly relates to the future of a nation and society. As statistics show, many Cambodian children still live below the poverty line. When they get illness, most families cannot afford the high medical expenses, leading to no way to timely and effective treatment. Every donation is a selfless dedication to Cambodian society, a practice of corporate social responsibility, and an investment in Cambodia's health and medical industry. It shows guests the dancers’ exquisite Khmer ethnic costumes, graceful movements, and heartfelt singing performance, which fully demonstrated the unique charm and profound connotation of Khmer culture.
To enhance cultural experience, a contemporary fashion show was specially arranged. Young designers interpreted traditional elements with modern aesthetics, displaying the profound essence of Khmer culture. The charity dinner, steeped in rich traditional culture and artistic ambiance, witnessed the generous contributions and benevolence of the attendees, which will directly fuel the development of children's healthcare in Cambodia.
One of the organizers, Association of Angkor Digital Culture Council, founded in 2022, has successfully hosted various events, including “2023 Cambodia-UK Cultural Arts Awards”, promoting cultural exchange between the East and West. It is dedicated to disseminating and preserving Cambodian traditional culture and arts, actively promoting the integration of Cambodian traditional culture and global cultural arts. “DPB Foundation Organization”, as a charitable organization dedicated to assisting vulnerable groups in Cambodia, has long been raising funds to help improve the health and education conditions of those in need.
